Teaching children to garden is something that loads of parents do. Apart from anything it keeps the kids busy for a couple of hours, but if they are really interested then it builds the foundations for their future. People will always want to garden, and with the knowledge from their parents they'll be a step ahead with their own gardening.

Teaching the kids to garden can be a bit stressful as they're not too wise to the world yet. However, you can lay the building blocks of understanding by simply making it obvious how to plant, water and maintain a plant.

There's a lot to do in the garden all the time. The reason for this is that the forces of nature are constantly working against keeping a garden tidy. Slugs and snails will eat plants and weeds grow everywhere.

Growing food yields many rewards. Jams can be produced from a wide array of different fruits and vegetables and all taste delicious. Blueberries are highly nutritious but won't last long unless they are made into a jam that will last longer.

Children love to do anything their parents do. When they see them gardening they really want to get into it because it's something that isn't too hard and can be learned easily. Parents are willing to teach children how to garden because it can be done outside and will keep them busy.

The range of plants around is epic. All of the different kinds of food alone are enough to fill most of the gardens in England. Growing as much food as possible is what a lot of people to because it is hugely satisfying to see so much being grown in one place and knowing that you have a hand in it.
